Toast 25 years of world-class experiences at the Buckman Arts Center Friday, October 28! The evening will open with a Levy Gallery reception celebrating "Nature’s Rhythms: Watercolor, Ceramics, and Mixed Media" by Anne Froning and Sally Markell from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse is generously providing hors d’oeuvres, dessert, and wine selections. At 7:30 p.m., 1Breath Quartet will take the stage. A select ensemble from Mighty Souls Brass Band, the super-group is led by tubist and composer Sean Murphy, featuring Tom Lonardo on drums, Jim Spake on saxophone, and Logan Hanna on guitar. These Memphis music veterans euphorically revive and reimagine rooted delta spirituals and standards in this profound and whimsical project celebrating the vibe and culture of the Mid-South’s sacred sound. The next morning, Saturday, October 29 at 10:00 a.m. the artists will return as our featured Magic Carpet Ride performers for the Mighty Souls Monster Mash at 10 a.m. Donations are accepted to support the events, and patrons can save their spot at buckmanartscenter.com!
